INSTALLATION OF A NEW AUDIO SYSTEM AT DUNBLANE CATHEDRAL

Audio Light Systems have recently completed the Design, Supply and Installation of a new audio system at Historic Dunblane Cathedral.
The cathedral, which dates back to the 12th century is undergoing a major refurbishment and as part of that refurbishment Audio Light Systems were commissioned by the church of Scotland and Historic Scotland, who own the Cathedral, to Design and Install a new audio system.
The system automatically controls the audio due to the use of an Allen & Heath IDR8 with a PL-3 outstation allowing different presets for loudspeakers and delay depending on the requirement.
EAW Loudspeakers, custom painted to Historic Scotland requirements, were used throughout the design and the CLA37 column being the choice for the Nave and Choir loudspeakers.
All 7 microphones are Sennheiser Evolution radio microphones including the Lectern which has a Sennheiser Gooseneck microphone together with a 500 series plug in transmitter. A small audio mixer and CD player have also been provided to interface to the system in order to extend the use for special occasions.
Ampetronic ILD 1000 Induction loop amplifiers have been installed to drive the existing Nave loop and a new Choir loop.
